Shalom,

The Scriptures tell us that without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to G-d must believe that He is, and that He is a Rewarder to those who seek Him (Hebrews 11:6)

This has been, and still is, a special time for Kerem El.  Since the month of ELUL we have been seeking G-d, believing that, as the Scripture promises, He is real and does reward those who diligently seek Him.

In the Torah portion that ends the cycle of reading for the year, it explains how Moshe is about to die and he blesses the children of Israel.  This is just as our father, Jacob, blessed and promised prophetic words regarding the responsibility and individual greatness of each tribe if they would heed G-d and be faithful unto Him.  Joshua commanded G-d’s people to arise, and cross the Jordan to enter His Promised Land.  He is the Rewarder to those who seek Him.

We continue on our road to great expectations for our congregation.  We desire to continue to seek G-d for growth in our spirit, growth in numbers of our Kerem El family and growth in the ability to do what G-d has commanded us.    We desire to minister to those who are sick among us (Matthew 25:36; Ezekiel 58:7).  We desire to compel people to come and be part of G-d’s wedding feast with us (Luke 14:23; Matthew 22:9).  We desire to do all the rest that entails being a part of HaShem’s great family.

May this coming year be a year of strength, a year of healing, a year of blessing and a year of joy.

Chazak! Chazak! Venischazeik!

Be strong! Be strong! And may we be strengthened!

Shalom U'bracha,

Rabbi Z.
