JANUARY 2005

A REFLECTION OF 2004

2004 was a happening year at Kerem El.

At the end of 2003 we began to see an increase of families attending services.  Throughout 2004 we have had an increase in new members.  G-d has blessed us with many new activities and all the needed help to make it all happen.

Our children’s Shabbat school has three teachers developing learning curriculum that is coinciding with the Torah portion for the week.  Puppet presentations by the children of the “Mighty Puppets of Torah” are presented throughout the year.  We are delighted that our children are participating in presenting G-d’s word in this way.

Several trips have been made by our dance group to Kol Simcha, in Gainesville, FL, where members of the dance group there have taught us Israeli and Messianic dance.  Our Rabbi’s son has come down from Gainesville to spend time with our dance group.

The music leader of Kerem El has been blessed to have an increase from two people to seven; bringing with them more instruments.  One of the music team plays heavenly music on the violin.

A men’s Prayer group meets every other Wednesday night of the month and on the other Wednesday the Rabbi is teaching a Hebrew class.

On July 18th, the women of Kerem El had their first monthly meeting.  These meetings have continued each month at different homes.  We are fulfilling the need that women have to support one another, learning from G-d’s word what is beneficial for us as women and growing closer to G-d and each other as we pray monthly for our Prayer Partner.

The first Saturday of each month we have a Shabbat Rishon Torah service followed by an oneg shabbat, (food and fellowship).  Classes for Bar and Bat Mitzvah students are also held on that Saturday.  All other Saturdays of the month there is an informal Torah study given by Rabbi Zamstein.

We are all very excited about the plans that are already being made for Kerem El in the year 2005.  To be a part of what G-d is doing is very exciting.

Shalom,

Roberta
