From Our Mishpocha

August 18, 2001

Our teaching tonight was given by Rabbi Zamstein’s wife, Shari.  What great insight we all received about Tashlich as we passed around the stones that were representative of the stones we will be casting into the living waters on Rosh Hashanah.  Just as the stones can never be found in the flowing water, our sins we are asking forgiveness for are never found or remembered by G-d.  This is a time of introspection.  A time for all of us to go before G-d and ask him to reveal to us anything that we are doing that is not pleasing to Him.

Rosh Hashanah is a joyous time and a time for remembering the provision G-d has made for us for the forgiveness of our sin so that we can be assured that we are written in the Lamb’s Book of Life.

All of us at Kerem El are very excited about having our first High Holy Day Services.  G-d is blessing our congregation.

Our next Havdalah, October 6, 2001,  will be our celebration of Sukkot and we hope to see you all there for this special time together.
