From Our Mishpocha

December 2002

We were barely finished with our Thanksgiving meal when our thoughts were focused on another Holiday---Chanukah.  This Holiday also celebrates the freedom to be able to worship G-d.

It is a tradition at Chanukah to gather with our families, and at Kerem El that is just what we did.  We brought our Chanukiyahs with us on Friday night, and as a family we sang the blessings and lit the candles together.  The warm glow of the candles brought to mind the joy of knowing our Messiah and the joy of celebrating the freedom to worship Him.

Our congregation has been presented with the beautiful gift of a banner.  This banner was made by one of our congregational family members.  How beautiful it looks hanging in our synagogue.  On the banner are grapes of gold on a deep green background.  Kerem El means “Vineyard of G-d.”  Therefore, the grapes are very special to us.

Shortly after the last day of Chanukah, we will be packing our suitcases and going to the 18th Annual Southeast Regional MJAA Conference in Orlando.  The theme this year is “L’Chaim: To Life.”  We are looking forward to a blessed time in the L-rd as we spend time with our extended families praising our Messiah in song, dance and through the Holy Spirit.

It really is hard to believe that we have seen another year go by.  We look forward to our next year at Kerem El and all that G-d will do.

Hope to see you at the conference,

Roberta
