From Our Mishpocha

February 2003

The months of March and April are busy times in our congregation.  Soon it will be Purim.  Rabbi Z. will be reading the Megillah, the story of Queen Esther.  We will have our noise makers so that we can drown out the name of the hated oppressor of our people, (Haman).  Bakeries will be making Hamantashen, pastry in the shape of Haman’s hat, for us to enjoy.  We will be together to hear about G-d’s great mercy upon us.

Though it is only March we must prepare for Passover in April.  A place for the Passover will soon be decided and we will be posting that information on our Website.

We are a small congregation, but a very busy one.  Our members are always willing to be creative and to come up with plans to meet the needs of the congregation.  I have heard that two wonderful ladies are putting their heads together and designing a beautiful Torah cover for the High Holy Days.  This is truly worth waiting to see.

Next week we will have our monthly “Pot Luck”.  Last month the food and fellowship was so wonderful we did not want it to end.

Shalom,

Roberta
