Beha'alotecha

Numbers 8:1-12:16

Zechariah 2:10-4:7

1 Corinthians 10:6-13

This Parashah begins with the command to light the lamps of the Menorah. It continues with the inauguration of the Levites.  This included purification through the sprinkling of water.  Following were animal and the grain offerings, thus separating them for the service in the
Temple.

Then G-d gives the children of Israel who missed the Passover when it was to be observed in Nissan 14, a second chance to observe the Passover. G-d's love for His people indeed is shown here, as well as in the rest of His word.

We know that Rav. Shaul (Paul), in the book of Romans, tells us in chapter 3 verse 10-12, "As it is written, There is none that is righteous, no not one: There is none that understands, there is none that seeks after G-d.  All have turned away, they have all together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one".... all have sinned and come short. But G-d said, in Jeremiah 31: 31-33 that He would give not only the Jewish people, but all who have fallen, another chance to follow Him albeit not by works that any man should boast, but by the grace (Hen) the mercy of G-d.

We all have a second chance if we just turn unto G-d and let Him carry your sins and burdens and start again to follow the path that He gave by His Torah.

The first Passover runs an entire week, while the second Passover is observed only one day. The Rabbis interpret this as that the power of Teshuvah, repentance. That power can transform a person in an instant.

Let the power of G-d transform you so that you may become a new creation, thus the old has passed away, and the new transformed you into one of G-d's children.
