Deuteronomy 32:1-52

Hosea 14:2-10

Joel 2:11-27

Micah 7:18-20

Rom. 10:14-11:12

No man ever knew spiritual success who had not first settled the issue of his relationship with the Word of G-d.  The authority of the Bible is established in 2 Timothy 3:16-17.  Scripture is given by G-d.  It is given by inspiration, G-d breathed.  The Bible is a message from G-d.

Scripture is given for express purposes such as establishing doctrine, imparting knowledge, teaching, and communicating.  Scripture also used for reproof, setting things straight, clearing things up.  G-d’s Word may be used for correction, showing the right way, instruction in righteousness such as training and teaching of what is right, what is required.

We are to be completely equipped for all good works.  We are created for good works, required to do good works and equipped for good works.

The Scriptures are sufficient (2 Peter 1:3-4).  His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of Him who called us by His own glory and goodness.  We have been given all things pertaining to life in general.  G-d has given us great and precious promises in His Word, so that we may participate in His divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

As we come to know G-d through His Word, we come to realize that we need to know him more.  His Word is designed to demonstrate how we are able to share in His nature, as we live life according to the Scriptures.  We demonstrate to ourselves and others that we seek after Him.  He helps us escape the corruption in the world.

James 1:22-23 speaks about a man who looks in a mirror and sees a major problem, then goes away and does nothing about it.  This is folly.  Scriptures point out our errors so we can do something about them.  The only ones who will have something left in the end, will be the one who has lived by the Word of G-d.  The successful believer is a person of the Book.
