As we begin this week's Torah portion we continue to look not only to man's history from creation, but we also look to understand what Hashem is doing in his plan to bring redemption back to Man.
As I began to study I saw an article from Ephraim Sobol that which stated that  "humans were created to seek redemption." This confirmed my understanding that Hashem created us to have a close relationship with Him. However, as we read from last week's Torah portion, we disobeyed G-D'S commandments and a large gulf was created. Isaiah states that humans now have a serious problem in regards to our relationship to Hashem.

Man's problem, as Isaiah writes in chapter 59:2; is that our sins have alienated us from G-D'S presence and have caused us to be rejected and prayers fall unto deaf ears. However as we read in the HAFTORAH portion, chapter 54:7, G-D'S people are forsaken for only a little time. Verse 7 reads thus; For a little while I forsook you, But with vast love I will bring you back. Further Romans 5:8 tells us that G-D demonstrates His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.

As we come to realize that G-D is too pure to behold evil and will bring justice to those who continue to reject Torah, and the love He has shown by providing Messiah YESHUA and the new life as new creations, we must make sure that we do not make the same mistake that the sons of G-D did by becoming unequally yoked (Gen. 6:2 ).  We must not absorb the culture of the surrounding people. We are to be a HOLY SEPARATE PEOPLE who are G-D'S witnesses to HIS love and His HOLINESS. Noach and his family were faithful to be taken into the safety of the Ark. G-D still calls His people to stand alone even when others mock us for building the Ark, He promises to never to forsake us. Thus G-D will judge us on our faithfulness to Him. G-D still calls His people to be courageous for Him.
